SML rate is the rate at which the values are converted in order to course SML operations in the currency of the party issuing the payment order. Two SML rates are available, daily: a Real /Peso – set by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) - and a Peso / Real – set by Argentine Central Bank (BCRA).
The Real/Peso SML rate is the quote for conversion of Argentinean pesos used in the transactions between the authorized national financial institutions and the Central Bank of Brazil, for Brazilian imports in the processing of clearance systems. The rate SML Peso/Real, similarly, is the quote for the transactions recorded in Argentina.
