Cruzeiro Real (1993)
Coin: 50 Cruzeiros Reais - Jaguar
Note: 50,000 Cruzeiros Reais - Bahiana

In July 1993, the country underwent a new monetary reform, establishing the Cruzeiro Real as the unit. This unit corresponded to one thousand Cruzeiros. Once again, animals were featured as themes of the coins: 5 (macaw), 10 (anteater), 50 (jaguar with its youngling) and 100 (guará wolf) Cruzeiros Reais. In March, 1994, inflation soared again and the Real Value Unit (URV) was established and used as a standard of monetary value, while the Cruzeiro Real kept to be used as currency.
