Cruzeiro (1990)
Coin: 500 Cruzeiros - Marine turtle
Note: 50,000 Cruzeiros - Câmara Cascudo

In March 1990, the Cruzeiro was once again adopted as the monetary standard, with its unit equivalent to one Cruzado Novo. The 100, 500 and 1000 Cruzeiros coins, launched in 1992, had animals as themes: the river dolphin, the sea turtle and the acará fish. From this fifth thousand Cruzeiros note, all Brazilian notes came to feature special marks (tactile signs) to assist the visually handicapped in identifying the value of the note.
