XXI Annual Inflation Targeting Conference of the Banco Central do Brasil
Rio de Janeiro – May 22-24, 2019


Submission Deadline: March 25, 2019

Authors interested in presenting a paper in the XXI Annual Inflation Targeting Conference of the Banco Central do Brasil must submit their articles by March 25, 2019. The event will be held in Rio de Janeiro on May 22-24, 2019.

The XXI Annual Inflation Targeting Conference brings together private sector specialists and economists from academia, central banks and multilateral institutions, aiming to stimulate debate and research on monetary economics, policy coordination (monetary, macroprudential and fiscal), and challenges to monetary policy and inflation targeting. The 2019 program will include presentations and discussions of selected articles from this Call for Papers, as well as invited lecturers. The Conference will have academic sessions and plenary sessions.

Deadline for paper submission: March 25, 2019
Acceptance confirmation date: April 8, 2019
Attendance confirmation deadline: April 12, 2019

TOPICS:

We encourage submission of theoretical and empirical research on monetary economics, policy coordination and challenges to monetary policy and inflation targeting, comprising aspects of economic modeling and implications for policy-making.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Authors should submit PDF papers using Conference Maker (https://editorialexpress.com/cgi-bin/conference/listconfs.cgi), by March 25, 2019. Articles must:
× Be complete
× Be written either in English or Portuguese
× Have a cover page, with author(s) information: affiliation, address and e-mail address
× Have an abstract, key-words and JEL classification codes
× Be presented in English, if selected
There is no submission fee.


FUNDING:

The Banco Central do Brasil will cover travel (economy class) and hotel expenses (up to three nights in a hotel chosen by the organizers) and transportation costs to and from the event for one author per paper selected for the Conference. There will be no reimbursement of any costs incurred while travelling to participate in the Conference. For international participants, the departing flight must leave from the major airport nearest your institution.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

1) By submitting a paper, authors automatically agree with the right of the Banco Central do Brasil to post the selected articles in the event website, without damage to the authors’ intellectual rights.
2) The organizers will not accept papers submitted after the deadline.
3) During the event, each author will make a presentation during the academic sessions. There might be some discussion following the presentations, by the end of the sessions or after the conclusion of all presentations.
4) By submitting a paper, authors automatically agree with the right of the Banco Central do Brasil to assign them to discuss another accepted paper of this conference.
5) Some authors may be invited to present their work at a policy-oriented session, held on May 24, when the event is open for the press, with the presence of the Governor and Deputy Governors of the Banco Central do Brasil and representatives from Brazilian financial institutions.
6) The organizers will determine the order in which the papers will be presented.
