XVII Annual Inflation Targeting Seminar of the Banco Central do Brasil

The Central Bank of Brazil (CBB) invites submissions for the XVII Annual Inflation Targeting Seminar, to be held on May 21-22, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro. The seminar is in line with the 16th Anniversary of the implementation of inflation targeting framework in Brazil and its purpose is to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge between central bankers, representatives from multilateral institutions, academics and private sector specialists and to discuss the achievements and challenges to monetary policy and inflation targeting, comprising both theoretical and/or empirical aspects of economic modeling and the implications for policy-making.

The 2015 program will include presentations by staff members from the CBB and international specialists selected from this call for papers, as well as keynote lectures. Professor Ricardo Reis, from Columbia University, will be a keynote speaker in the 2015 Seminar. Past meetings have been attended by world-renowned experts in the field of monetary policy and macroeconomics. Professor Charles A. E. Goodhart, from London School of Economics and Professor Carl E. IMPORTANT DATES:
Last date of submission of paper: January 30, 2015
Confirmation of acceptance of the paper: March 6, 2015
Last date of confirmation by selected authors: March 16, 2015
Date of seminar: May 21-22, 2015

TOPICS: We encourage submission of theoretical and empirical research on the achievements and challenges to monetary policy and inflation targeting, comprising aspects of economic modeling and the implications for policy-making.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Interested authors should submit papers by January 30, 2015 to BCBConference2015@bcb.gov.br as a PDF file attachment. The subject of the e-mail should state "CBB2015". In addition, authors should provide the following information in their submission: name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s), phone(s) and email(s) of the author(s), and an abstract with the appropriate key words and JEL classification codes. There is no submission fee. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by March 6, 2015.

FUNDING: The CBB will cover travel expenses (economy airline ticket), make hotel reservations and pay for accommodation (up to three nights) for one author per paper accepted for the seminar. At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to attend the seminar. There will be no reimbursement of any travel expenses.
