Banco Central's São Paulo Cultural Center occupies a privileged address on Avenida Paulista. It was inaugurated in January 1990 with an exhibit of works by the Bank's own employees. Since that time, this event is repeated at the start of each year.
The Center has not gained a position of importance on the São Paulo Cultural Center without effort. Its walls have been occupied with the best in traditional and vanguard art. The staff responsible for the center had made a point of presenting varied art forms, including painting, sculpture, photography, incorporating as many styles as possible, with no biases except that of quality.
